And a bird hits the window

The title, it's a true story.  Well actually, it was a duck that hit the window.  It took a lot to convince the children that the poor lil guy was just resting on the ground for a bit, and even more to convince the cat that the duck wasn't breakfast.  The strong fella eventually gained his composure and waddled right out the front gate, unharmed by the incident (or the cat).

But I'm getting ahead of myself, I should tell you about my weekend!  Saturday was a gorgeous day, so me, Sander and a few of his roommates biked to a lake with a nice beach.  We baked in the sun all day and then cooked some delicious Dutch food for dinner.  On Sunday, I went boating on the River Vecht with Sander and his parents.  It threatened rain all afternoon, but turned out to be a very, very humid and warm day.  It was a great visit, and all around a wonderful Dutch experience.  =)

To pass through the bridge, you had to pay a toll.  This involves an adorable old Dutch man throwing you a little wooden shoe attached to a string.  You put the money in the shoe, and he reels it back in.

Yes, I even drove the boat (and I look super excited about it too)!

That's all for now!
