Settling in

It appears that I'm settling in to my new life in Holland, cause I don't have anything extraordinary to update on this week.  No new, weird things to share, no pictures, no crazy stories.

On the weekend, I drank free beer at a birthday party (and then we all proceeded to hide the beer bottles all over the house, just to be obnoxious), I watched a ridiculous number of Dexter episodes, I ate mussels, and I did not attend a wedding, cause that was on Monday.

Yesterday, Sander's friends Jedidja and Daniel got married in a town quite a ways away from where I live.  To get there, I had to walk to the bus stop, take the bus to Utrecht Central Station, catch a train to Rotterdam, switch trains there, and then catch another one to Dordrecht where I had to walk about 15 mins to get to city hall.  Sander had to be at the wedding early to drive the bride and groom around in their super cool, old school Volkswagen beetle, and I could only leave after I took the kids back to school, so I had to achieve all of this on my own.  For the record, I succeeded (with good directions from Sander, of course), but I was late, and I guess weddings are super fast in Holland because by the time I made it there, the ceremony was over.  Oops.  I still was able to attend the church part, and the reception after, so it was okay that I missed the first part.  All in all, it was a really great Dutch experience.

We got to take the car back to the dealership.  Even though it wasn't super warm out, it wasn't raining, so we drove there with the top down.
